Michelin Guide 2018 Bib Gourmand D.C. winners selected

2018 Bib Gourmand List is just second for D.C. after last year’s inaugural inclusion

The Michelin Guide released its Bib Gourmand winners and the initial reports were captured in D.C. through local news reporting. According to the Washington Post, three new restaurants were added to the prestigious “cheap eats” list. These restaurants do not earn Michelin Guide stars but are honored with the Bib designation. The main requirement for qualification is that Michelin Guide inspectors be able to order two courses and a glass of wine, or dessert, for $40-pre-tip and tax.

New additions to the 2018 Bib Gourmand List:

  • Sfoglina – is part of the owned by Fabio and Maria Trabocchi Restaurants empire and continuing to win local acclaim.
  • Hazel – Executive Chef Rob Rubba wins yet another accolade for his culinary work in D.C. The award is on the heels of this RAMMYS 2017 New Restaurant of the Year Award in July.
  • Ivy City Smokehouse – According to the Post article, Rob Goodman, its executive chef has been part of the culinary scene in D.C. since he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y. in 1972.
